February is Cherry Month

Many people think of cherries as a spring/summer fruit but officially cherry month is celebrated in February. Cherry month is a fun holiday we have borrowed from our American cousins, it is celebrated in February because George Washington famously cut down his farther’s favourite cherry tree and admitted the deed when questioned, as Washington’s birthday is in February it is also when we celebrate Cherry Month.
