There is nothing more British than a nice cup of tea!

Originated in south-west China (where herbal teas were often used for medicinal purposes), this hot beverage was made famous as a recreational drink across Asia during the Tang Dynasty over 1200 years ago.

Brought to Europe by Portuguese priests and merchants during the 16th century, tea quickly became fashionable in Britain which resulted in large scale production in India to bypass the Chinese monopoly.

Tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world with many different cultures having their own serving traditions, in the UK, for example, it is customary for a host to offer a “cup of tea” as soon as a visitor arrives at their home (often the tea is accompanied with biscuits or cakes). Chinese and Japanese tea serving traditions are more ritualistic and tea is often enjoyed in a refined setting. In Medditeranian countries, tea is consumed in large quantities despite the hot weather.

The production of tea has been steadily increasing over the last 20 years (2.5 million metric tonnes produced in 2005 to 5.3 million metric tonnes produced in 2015) with China leading the market producing 35% of the world’s tea, India is second with 23%.

The 21st of April is National Tea Day in the UK, where the National Tea Day Festival will take place at Kensington Roof Gardens.

How are the teas packed?
We pack 1000 tea sachets to a box. Each box measures 305mm x 305mm

What is the size of the sachet?
Size is 70mm x 75mm. Print area each side is 55mm x 55mm

How should artwork be supplied?
Please supply in high resolution pdf or eps file. If you are unable to supply artwork or design our studio can help and produce for you.

What is the lowest quantity you can supply?
We can supply as low as 500 Teas with a full colour printed label. The minimum is 5000 for direct printing on the white foil sachet

Do you have alternative tea packaging?
Yes, we have a premium tea range that includes Fruit Tea, Darjeeling, and Oriental Chai Tea. These are packed in a nylon tea bag. We also supply PG tips round tea bags packed in full colour carded envelopes.

Where is the tea produced?
We use a single estate Kenyan tea which is great as an English Breakfast Tea

What flavours can you supply?
The biggest demand is for our English Breakfast Tea. We can supply other flavoured teas but costs could vary. We can supply Green Tea, Herb, Earl Grey, Assam, Peppermint and Camomile Tea.

Can you fast track quicker?
For lower quantities, up to 2000 sachets we can fast track 7 working days from artwork approval.

What is the delivery time?
We deliver 3 – 4 weeks from artwork approval

How many colours can the tea sachet be printed?
We print by a method called ‘Flexi Print’. This enables us to print up to 4 colours. We also print digitally in 4 colour process CYMK for our labelled range.

How long does your tea stay fresh?
The tea bag is contained in a white foil sachet keeping the tea fresh for at least 18 months (Best Before)
